Changing your brands.
Ever thought about giving up something you take for granted??
Approximately half of British adults - around 22 million people - have switched which supermarket they use to save money during the credit crunch but many wouldn’t change from their favourite brands.
The poll by independent comparison site uSwitch.com found that while 48 per cent have changed supermarket to help their wallet, another 39 per cent said they no longer buy luxuries or treats.
Nevertheless, it seems there are some basics that shoppers are not prepared to do without - 44 per cent said they would never give up Heinz tomato ketchup for a supermarket’s own brand, while 39 per cent could not swap Heinz baked beans for any other brand.
Could you give up a few or swap them for supermarket replications? Mayonnaise, Free range eggs, Kleenex tissues, Cola?
Has anyone found cheaper and tastier alternatives?
